The Sounds
Own Work

Bach was the most famous composer in the world, and so was Handel. Handel was half German, half Italian and half English. He was very large. Bach died from 1750 to the present. Beethoven wrote music even though he was deaf. He was so deaf he wrote loud music. He took long walks in the forest even when everyone was calling for him. Beethoven expired in 1827 and later died for this. (Richard Lederer, The World According to Student Bloopers)

Just like on the old homepage, I want to give you access to bad tunes. Although they are nothing compared to the modules created by musicians all over the world, they are still better than some of the modules I recently listened to on AmiNet CDs.

A man may be a very bad musician, and may yet be passionately in love with music. (H. G. Wells)
/ \

All my modules were made using Protracker, the oldest ones even with Sound- and NoiseTracker. I haven't done new modules for some years now.

Some of the modules were intended to be game musics and therefore only use 3 of 4 channels. One of them (the tubes module) contains sub songs which cannot be heard with an ordinary module player (but DeliTracker plays most of them). Other tunes are cover versions of commercial songs.

If I were not a physicist, I would probably be a musician. I often think in music. I live my daydreams in music. I see my life in terms of music. ... I get most joy in life out of music. (A. Einstein)

The modules have been packed into zip archives (I've received a few mails from several PC dummies asking me how to unpack an lha archive, so I switched to zips instead of lhas. I think Amiga users are clever enough to unpack zip files aswell). Some archives contain multiple songs.

You won't find these tunes on AmiNet because it would be far too embarrassing.

Remember that (depending on the browser you're using) you might have to press the shift-key while clicking on the link to download the file.

Loops & Tings (Smile on your Face)

Cover version of the famous tune and I think it's a good one.

20 Fingers: Lick It

Cover version of Lick It! by 20 Fingers done in 1995. It was pretty easy to convert this one. It contains a lot of speech samples which were taken digitally from the CD. Unfortunately, some of the speech samples had to be upsampled to reduce the size of the module.

The Prodigy: No Good

Remixed cover version of No Good (Start The Dance) by The Prodigy done in 1994. I think this is one of my best cover conversions. I've made an Amiga demo to this tune too.

The Prodigy: Voodoo People

Unfinished cover version of Voodoo People by The Prodigy done in 1995. This could have been a good one if I would have completed it. There's a module on AmiNet called 'Emphutured' by 'c-quence/gods' which contains a lot Prodigy samples (both from Break'n Enter and Voodoo People).

The Prodigy: Break 'n Enter

Very unfinished cover version of Break 'n Enter by The Prodigy started in early 1995. There's a much better (and finished!) version on AmiNet by 'slice' (you can also request it from me).

Robert Miles: Children

I started a multichannel (the last version used 12 channels) conversion of Children, but didn't finish it. I didn't take many instruments from the original, but tried to get sound alike with the samples on my harddisk.

Crack Out Game Modules

These are three modules from the game Crack Out!. Except for the hiscore music (which has been recycled from Tubes) the musics are pretty old (1991). Nevertheless, I think they're not too bad for a poor musician like me.

Deuteron was a game project in 1992 I should have made some music for. But they didn't quite like it (which I can understand pretty well).

Ronny Raygun Game Modules

Ronny Raygun was meant to be a Jump'n Run game but was never finished (I made about seven attempts to rewrite it from scratch).

Some of the modules, however, are pretty nice, despite that some of them only use 3 voices and are pretty small in size.

Tubes Game Module

This is one of my best modules, initially written for Tubes on one afternoon, then extended by 7 more subsongs and jingles, using 31 instruments in total. On a PC you probably will only be able to hear the title tune. On Amiga, the latest DeliTracker correctly supports subsongs in Protracker modules.

The public doesn't want new music; the main thing it demands of a composer is that he be dead. (Arthur Honegger)
