Without the Greeks, we wouldn't have history. The Greeks invented three kinds of columns - Corinthian, Doric and Ironic. They also had myths. A myth is a female moth. One myth says that the mother of Achilles dipped him in the River Stynx until he became intolerable. Achilles appears in "The Illiad", by Homer. Homer also wrote the "Oddity", in which Penelope was the last hardship that Ulysses endured on his journey. Actually, Homer was not written by Homer but by another man of that name.
Socrates was a famous Greek teacher who went around giving people advice. They killed him. Socrates died from an overdose of wedlock.

  • Put the website back online (while removing some stuff found not worthy). The site contained much more than just my Amiga stuff, so it was missed. My decision to leave the Amiga scene is final though and this is not gonna change. Other than the Poseidon release to come with the Deneb USB card, there won't be any new Amiga software from me. So this is still "Bye...".

03-Nov-03
  • Yesterday, a fake user called "Dan Gaines" sent a message to three public mailing lists with instructions on how to crack Poseidon. As a smokescreen, a fake account was registered at a FreeMailer in London, and the posting was sent from an IP of a british ISP, but it turned out to be an anonymous proxy located in the UK. The high amount of grammar mistakes in the posting makes it unlikely that this person was a native speaker, however. The name, the email address, the ISP was just to distract me. "Dan Gaines" was registered only a week ago. This was a thoughtfully planned assault.

Out of dozens of different hex editors, the cracker chose SavED as a reference, maybe because he's using it regularily or he is a registered SavED user. SavED was written by Michal Stochmialek <misto@box43.gnet.pl>. Of course, it is easier for someone in Poland to register for polish software.

Elb*x said "Therefore, your behaviour is now considered to be addressed against our company in order to promote competitive products. We will be forced to take appropriate steps to protect our interests." (see Soap Opera) and "We are now taking steps to cool down Chris Hodges from harming Mediator users." (thanks to the Rat for the translation).

Now, considering that no official steps were taken against me (last mail I got from Elb*x was from 04-Aug-03), where can I consider this copyright infringement action to originate from?

The effects on the development of Poseidon are still to be considered. The effect on my motivation is already devastating.
