| Yesterday's the past and tomorrow's the future. Today is a gift -- which is why they call it the present. (Bill Keane) | ||
|
This is one of the pages which needs to be updated on a regular basis, for
there is no thing as a 'present'. Time is a constantly changing flow, each
day yields different views and activities, but if you have got an aim, a
target to be achieved, tomorrow never dies. I once had such a 'final meaning of life', tried to ignore all the unpleasant and malevolent events happened, all the set-backs that tried to hurt me, and I thought I just have to get better and one day, I would manage to achieve my aims. |
| A friend is someone who understands your past, believes in your future, and accepts you just the way you are today. (unknown) | ||

After a while I couldn't believe in this self-deception anymore. I began to
find my inner self, studying philosophy, researching my psyche, analysing
my past and the things I've done wrong. I did this for two and a half years
with the result of thinking about committing suicide all the time. Without
my friends I would have been dead by now (there are a few people however,
who think you should better go into a lunatic asylum right away, if you
can't cope with life, instead of talking about the problems with friends
(or with a psychologist, if you can't talk with them (because they won't
listen, just ignoring you or even isolate you)). Thanks must go to Henning
and Tobias as a good example for the latter case). Nevertheless, it wasn't a bad time throughout. I've learned a lot about life, universe and everything. Don't fear thinking about yourself and life, but keep in mind that it is only your point of view and you can't escape it. Don't get stuck in a vicious circle, sometimes there just isn't a solution for a problem. In some cases, it's just the wrong question asked. Again, remember that everything can change within a few days or even minutes. |

| Life is no 'brief candle' to me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for a moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations. (George Bernard Shaw) | ||
|
I found out that there is no meaning of life at all, but then again, has to
be there any? Isn't it just enough trying to survive the present day and
reaching the next little step in your life, even if at the end of it,
there's just death, extinguishing everything you've ever been? It's easy to live with a faith. The vision of transcending to a 'better state of being' after your death might give you some hope and reduce the fear of drawing your terminal breath, but it's just an illusion (oh well, being fertilizer for plants might be a better state for some people though!). I propose it's better to live without illusions and to face that death is the end of ones consciousness. |

| One day at a time -- this is enough. Do not look back and grieve over the past, for it is gone; and do not be troubled about the future, for it has not yet come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering. (Ida Scott Taylor) | ||
|
Life is too short to worry about tomorrow. Although the memories might
remain, the past will never come back, nor will you be able to leap into
the future. So live now, live most, live it all. Don't think of what you
might have not done yesterday, but what you can do today (and there's a lot
one can do!). Don't plan your life too much into the future, it cannot be
predicted. Life can suddenly be over at any time. Vivre le plus, pas le meilleur! Carpe diem! On the other hand, there's always the chance of getting happy from one day to the other: Since 30th of January 1999 I had been together with my love Heike and I cannot express how wonderful life had been in the following two years. If you desperately seeking for something, it will hardly come. It's more the coincidents that make it happen. But don't miss the chances you get all the time. Life is to short to regret the neglected opportunities. On the other hand, there's no sense in living in the past and thinking about mistakes made because there is no chance ever to correct them. This is especially important for relationships. Nobody is perfect and thus, it is only human to make mistakes. But, being human also means being able to forgive. Not all things can be forgiven though. Anyway, nothing can last forever and feelings change. And there's nothing you can do about it. But at least you could be brave and honest enough to say that the love that you had, has extinguished and will not return, instead of still fooling the partner by saying you wouldn't know what has happened to your emotions. Which sounds simple, but it is hard to be reasonable when there are so many strong feelings of hope and yearning. And if you wouldn't have these emotions at the end of an relationship, it all was a lie and in vain. But all of this is past now. And as time has gone by, love has found me again. And the present is really a gift. |

| Remember that man's life lies all within this present, as 't were but a hair's-breadth of time; as for the rest, the past is gone, the future yet unseen. Short, therefore, is man's life, and narrow is the corner of the earth wherein he dwells. (Marcus Aurelius Antoninus) | ||

So what am I going to do this month? And the answer is: Trying to find a job that suits me. Other current projects on schedule:

| Maybe you'll marry, maybe you won't. Maybe you'll have children, maybe you won't. Maybe you'll divorce at 40, maybe you'll dance the funky chicken on your 75th wedding anniversary. Whatever you do, don't congratulate yourself too much, or berate yourself either. Your choices are half chance. So are everybody else's. (Mary Schmich, "Sunscreen Song") | ||
| Another important topic concerning the present is my likes and dislikes (this one is pretty old and not updated regularily though): | |||
What I like and love:

What I don't like or hate:

| The happiest day is that day in the past that you always run back to when the present proves unbearable. (unknown) | ||
